This was so unbelievable, I had to pass it along. I don’t have much to add, except that I had just heard about him in connection with the “three-day-destruction-of-Iran’s-military” claim. This would certainly seem to call into question the credibility of that report (which was pretty wild to begin with).
Political experts cite these reasons for the President’s choice:
Only shortlisted candidate whose loyalty to the President is unswerving.
Guaranteed to give inscrutable answers at Senate hearings.
Continuing the “historical” themes of his recent speeches, the President, at a Rose Garden announcement of Barney’s nomination, cited the precedent of Incitatus as inspiration for his choice.
